National Urban Code for low-income housing
SEDESOL, (Art. 73 of national law for low-income housing trust)

DgL worked closely with the staff of urban development at the Secretary of Social Development (SEDESOL) to develop the urban design codes for low income housing projects in Mexico. The first phase of the project required the analysis and categorization of existing urban codes in the laws and codes of each of the 32 states in the Mexican Federation. In the second phase, the urban code was divided into three sections including, Infrastructure, Social development and Environmental Design. The objective of the code was to set a new standard for housing projects in Mexico with a focus on regional connectivity, local land use diversity and improved pedestrian connectivity and bicycle mobility.
