FOVISSSTE Urban Housing Prototype Competion Prize
The FOVISSSTE Urban Housing Prototype competition was sponsored by the Federal Fovissste Institute in order to promote the construction of low income housing units within urban areas. The project called for the development of theoretical 2 hectare site 100 meters wide by 200 meters long. The project program included the urban design as well as the building design. The DgL winning proposal created a series of public, semi public and private spaces which allow residents to maintain control over their spaces. The public infrastructure included a study center for children, community kitchens and ample public spaces for recreation and leisure.
